The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

The Very Hungry Caterpillar tells the story of a small caterpillar who is very hungry. He starts by eating one apple on Monday, then two pears on Tuesday, three plums on Wednesday, and so on, progressively eating more food each day. As the caterpillar eats through various fruits, he grows bigger and bigger, until, on Saturday, he eats too much and feels very full.

The next day, Sunday, the caterpillar is no longer hungry and spins himself into a cocoon. After resting in the cocoon for several weeks, he emerges as a beautiful butterfly.

The book teaches young readers about numbers, the days of the week, and the life cycle of a caterpillar, all with vibrant, engaging illustrations.
